Well, apparently, I don't know their names, either, so I wouldn't exactly call them my mates. As far as I can tell, I have three friends, and the two Slytherins are female.

But that's beside the point. My being more or less popular than you (relatively speaking) does not in any way invalidate what I said earlier: people won't go out of their way to talk to you if they don't understand what you're talking about.
